Supporting nonprofit leaders with practical education, honest conversations, and a community that gets it.
Hi! I'm Wendy.
If you've spent any time in nonprofit leadership, you've probably discovered something pretty quickly… no one hands you a manual.
Most nonprofit leaders step into their roles because they care deeply about a mission, not because they planned to become experts in governance, fundraising, strategic planning, HR, board development, or operations.
I've been there.
Over the last 18 years, I've served on nonprofit boards, chaired committees, built systems, facilitated planning sessions, untangled organizational challenges, and worked alongside incredible leaders doing work that genuinely changes lives.
I also noticed something: the leaders doing the most meaningful work often had the least amount of accessible support.
That's why I created The Nonprofit Nook.
I wanted to create the kind of resource I wish more nonprofit leaders had...a place where education is practical, conversations are honest and questions are welcomed. I knew we needed a place where nobody pretends leadership is easy.
This isn't about having all the answers. It's about helping good leaders become even stronger.
Why The Nonprofit Nook Exists:
Every nonprofit leader holds certain values and beliefs, and I’m no exception. I believe in:
Precision + Execution
I believe missions deserve more than good intentions and leaders need to know how to move great ideas into meaningful action. Together, we’ll simplify meaningful work, strengthen organizations, and create lasting impact.
Truth + Directness
I believe honest conversations make stronger nonprofits. We’ll celebrate what's working, ask the hard questions in community, and share practical insight with care and respect. Real growth starts with clarity, and clarity starts with telling the truth.
Growth + Momentum
I believe nonprofit leaders do their best work when they have support, encouragement, and a community that understands the unique challenges they face. Sustainable growth isn't about doing more. It's about building confidence, learning together, and creating momentum that lasts.
I also believe nonprofit leadership should be welcoming, collaborative, and deeply human. Every organization deserves access to ideas, encouragement, and practical resources that help them better serve their communities
A Little More About MeBelieve it or not, I originally planned to become a meteorologist. Instead, I became something I'm much better at...helping people untangle complicated problems. More than 26 years after starting my first business, that still hasn't changed.
Whether I'm coaching leaders through Boss Level: Engaged, speaking at conferences, or hosting conversations here inside The Nonprofit Nook, my goal is always the same: help good people do meaningful work with greater clarity and confidence.
The Nonprofit Nook is one part of how I support leaders.
